Announced

Join us for the 2010 Hunter Education program Saturday & Sunday, August 21th & 22nd. This 2-Day class comes at no cost to all the participants, and even includes lunch (who says there's no such thing as a free lunch?). In addtion some lucky youth hunter (18 and under) will win a fabulous hunting package!  Plus we'll have other give aways and door prizes. Click here to learn more, including how you can register.

Anyone born after September 2, 1971, MUST take an approved Hunter Education

and Safety Course to hunt in the state of Texas.

The location of the state’s largest youth hunter safety education program will again be the Houston

Farm & Ranch Club, One Abercrombie Street, Houston, Texas 77084.  Click here for a map.

 

SPECIAL PRIZE PACKAGE: Once again some lucky young hunter under 18 years of age will

win a Father/Son or Mother/Daughter Bronze Medal Whitetal Hunt courtesy of Bill Carter

and Cartr's Country! We'll also be giving other great hunting & outdoor gear prizes that all

attendees will be eligible to win. As an EARLYBIRD SPECIAL all registrations received by June

Last year’s Youth Hunter Education Program drew almost 300 registrations! This year

we're shooting for even more participants for the TP&WD Hunter Certification Program while

HGC-SCI picks up the tab!  Registration is open to all ages 6 and up, but Texas requires that

you be at least 9 years old to receive certification . Although there is no cost, you MUST

register for this course so we have a head count for lunch!  REGISTRATION DEADLINE TBA,
and once plans are finalized you can register by copying and pasting the following information or

With hundreds of youths (and adults) at this two-day instruction things will run smoothly is you

will please take note of the following. While the program is provided at no cost,

(we even provide lunch) there are a few items to note:

 

Although youths six (6) and up can take the course, you must be nine (9) years old to receive

Texas Parks & Wildlife certification.

 

It is a two-day course, and you must attend both days, Saturday 8:00-6:30 (TPWD paperwork

starts at 7:00AM) and Sunday 12:00-5:30 to be certified. NOTE: Sunday lunch will be served

BEFORE the sesson starts, from 11:00 'til Noon.
(Sorry, even with pre-registration TPWD paperwork must be filled out as we cannot do this ahead of time)

 

Yes, adults can take the course free of charge as well (and we encourage

parents/guardians to attend with their youths, but please let us know if you will be

accompanying your youth so as to get an accurate lunch count) and ..

 

Any adult/guardian bringing a youth 17 years old and younger, but not staying for the course,

must still plan on staying at least one hour the first day, Saturday, until all paperwork is

completed.  You cannot simply drop off anyone under 18!

 

BBQ lunch will provided both days for all participants (NOTE ONCE AGAIN!: Sunday lunch will

be served BEFORE the sesson starts, from 11:00 'til Noon).

 

We assume if you are reading this that you can enroll online, but forms will also be distributed

that you can pick up for mailing at many area Academy Sports+Outdoors, Gander Mountain,

Bass Pro Shops and Carter’s Country outlets, or you can simply mail the same information

above, even without the official form, to:
