SCI Is First For Hunters!

The Houston Gulf Coast SCI (HGC-SCI ) First for Hunters protects hunters'
rights by actively lobbying on behalf of hunters at a state, provincial and
federal level.
We are a chapter of the premier global hunting organization SCI
(Safari Club International) First for Hunters. No other organization does
as much to protect hunters'
rights nationally and internationally than
SCI. We are among the organizers of the Congressional Sportsman's Caucus,
and are very active in the Congressional Sportsman's Foundation,
working closely with the legislative members of the Caucus.

Our Purpose: Promote education, conservation,
legislation and humanitarian services
Our Scope: Pursue SCI's goals locally and globally
Our Motto: Conserve and Protect (conserve wildlife and protect the hunter)

Founded in 1996 by a small group of Houston area sportsmen, HGC-SCI
First for Hunters has enjoyed a steady growth in membership and
is building an international reputation as a great hunting organization.

We are geographically centered in the Houston, Texas, area on the
upper coastal bend near the Gulf of Mexico shoreline. Dedicated to
promoting good fellowship among those who love the outdoors and the
sport of hunting, we are conservationists who hunt.

Our members are committed to passing the hunting tradition, which is our
heritage, on to our youth through educational programs, hunting experiences
and wildlife conservation projects. The community of SCI hunters promotes
strong family values and teaches young hunter's about hunting and the
role hunters play in sustainable wildlife conservation.

We believe that habitat and wildlife must be kept in balance, and that wisely
managed hunting is one of the best ways to accomplish this. We know that
the active support and participation of hunting conservationists is
largely responsible for the salvation and renewal of wildlife in North America
and throughout the world. Our Chapter's purpose and intent includes operating
as a non-profit organization and actively supporting charitable purposes
while providing enjoyment for our members, always with the goal of conserving the animals
we love to hunt today for those who will come to love the sport tomorrow.

SCI First for Hunters chapters located around the world offer an excellent
opportunity for hunters to get involved and make a difference.
If you are passionate about hunting and the future of that heritage, you should
be a member of SCI and HGC-SCI First for Hunters.
